The Durban team was humiliated 5-0 by Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout Cup first round match in Atteridgeville on Sunday.

AmaZulu FC coach Jozef Vukušič says his team will be gunning to win the next three league matches.  The Durban team were humiliated 5-0 by Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout Cup first-round match in Atteridgeville on Sunday.

Usuthu will meet Baroka FC, newly promoted Stellenbosch FC and Chippa United.

AmaZulu FC were poor in defence and also against Sundowns. They were fortunate to escape with just five goals against them when Sundowns missed countless opportunities in the first half. Vukušič says their mentality was not good.

The Slovakian coach has been in charge of AmaZulu FC in four games since he took over from the sacked Cavin Johnson.

He won just one game and lost three matches. They beat Cape Town City before the FIFA break and Vukušič says the break was good for them.

Defender Mario Booysen made his debut for the team but unfortunately scored an own goal in the second half.

Booysen used to play for Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Ajax Cape Town. Vukušič says they need the experience. – Report by Vincent Sitsula
