AmaZulu FC have denied media reports linking striker Mabhuti Khenyeza with exit from the club.

AmaZulu FC have refuted reports that have been making rounds on media that their veteran striker Mabhuti Khenyeza will leave the club during this currently opened window transfer.

Usuthu issued a statement on the club’s Twitter page on Wednesday afternoon.

Unite & rejoice with us above all else as we laugh off baseless rumours once again this week which are well timed to divide this strong force our young squad has potential to become. Statement concerning the bogus Mabhuti Khenyeza pre-contract with neighbouring club coming soon.

AmaZulu Team Manager, Qedi Dlamini added that the club has no reason to doubt the integrity of Mabhuti Khenyeza who has spent over a year and half with Usuthu.

“We have spoken to him, he has confirmed to us that he has not signed any pre-contract with anyone. Obviously Mabhuti is on a one year contract.

The 35 year old striker has also denied allegations linking him with any club in the Premier Soccer League.

“I am still contracted with the team. I will not deal with issues from behind, I’ll come straight and tell the team about my career,” said Khenyeza.

Dlamini went on to stress the club’s doors remain open for constructive interaction on club matters to supporters.

“We have always opened our doors to anyone who has a burning question on certain aspects about the club. Our supporters are free to call us, club matters are addressed accordingly, our people must not fall for false stories,” concludes Dlamini.

The Durban-based club has also encouraged the supporters to come in numbers to give a much-needed support as they set to take on Baroka FC on Sunday at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Usuthu will go to this encounter limping following a 2-1 downfall to Chippa United over the past weekend. Usuthu is relegation-threatened as they in the 14th position with only 15 points collected in 14 matches.
