South African men under-20 national team coach, Thabo Senong says they are aiming to reach the knockout stage at the FIFA World Cup in Poland.

Amajita are paired in the same group as Argentina, Korea Republic and Portugal. They will kick-off their campaign against Argentina at Tychy stadium on Saturday night (kick-off 8:30pm).

Amajita also played in the world cup in South Korea two years ago.

They were in Group D alongside Uruguay, Italy and Japan. They finished rock bottom with only one draw and two losses. Senong is hoping for major improvements in this tournament.

England won the previous tournament after beating Venezuela 1-0 in the final. It was the 21st edition of the tournament after it started in 1977.

Senong is excited to be part of the prestigious tournament once again.

Amajita captain and goalkeeper, Khulekani Kubheka is also looking forward to the tournament to showcase his talent.

The 20-year-old plays for National First Division team, Cape Umoya United.  He is on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns reserve team and is hoping to make an impression in the world cup to represent Bafana Bafana in the future.

Khubeka is also eyeing a good contract overseas. – Report by Vincent Sitsula
