Alliance partners have raised concerns about Mboweni’s economic plan: Mabe

Sunday is the deadline for the African National Congress (ANC) and its alliance partners, the SA Communist Party (SACP), South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) and SA National Civic Organisation (SANCO) to discuss the Economic Strategy Plan proposed by Finance Minister Tito Mboweni.

The ANC National Executive Committee is holding a special meeting in Benoni – east of Johannesburg on the issue of economic development in South Africa.

ANC National Spokesperson, Pule Mabe has confirmed that there are concerns raised by the alliance partners about the plan, but says a media briefing will be next Wednesday, where details of the NEC meeting will be communicated.

“I think it’s important that we allow the meeting to take place and conclude, once the meeting has concluded, we know there are issues of contracting economy, jobless young people and all of that, we have with quite a number of issues.”

“So stakeholders are here, alliance partners are here, so out of this on Wednesday you will get a detailed brief on the outcomes of this meeting.”
