The case of a 77-year-old Mamelodi businessman accused of raping a 12-year-old girl has been escalated to the Pretoria Regional Court.

The accused made a brief appearance and was denied bail and he will appear again in court on the 26th of November.

The rape allegedly happened earlier this year at the businessman’s house. He was arrested in May after the girl told her aunt about it.

The girl’s family say they’re being threatened.

Earlier, the alleged perpetrator denied allegations against him
