The accused are charged with shooting and killing Vusumuzi Moyana and critically wounding his colleague.

The three accused in the murder of a police officer and attempted murder of another one at Inanda, north of Durban, will on Friday be back in the city’s High Court.

Sabelo Mkhize, Lindokuhle Mchunu and Sboniso Khubisa were arrested for the crime.

On Thursday, in a twist of events the defence advocates withdrew from the case after state prosecutor Sasha Jacobs completed her closing arguments.

Judge Xolile Ntshulwane was forced to adjourn the case for Legal Aid representation to be appointed.

He, however, warned them that he would not allow the trial to start afresh.

The accused are charged with shooting and killing Vusumuzi Moyana and critically wounding his colleague Jabu Jojisa in 2015.
