A man who is suspected of dealing in drugs has been remanded in custody by Klerksdorp Magistrate’s Court in the North West.

Forty three-year-old Frank Nwaru was arrested with drugs worth R1.5 million.

Nwaru was arrested after police acted on a tip-off that there was alleged drug dealing near a local primary school in the area.

The suspect was spotted leaving his apartment and when he noticed that he was being followed, he allegedly threw a black plastic bag inside his vehicle and attempted to run away.

He was immediately overpowered and detained and his vehicle was searched revealing the contents of the plastic bag to be drugs.

The police took the suspect back to the apartment and a thorough search uncovered neatly packed Crystal Meth and CAT drugs.

Nwaru is facing a charge of illegal possession of drugs. His case was postponed to next week Tuesday for a formal bail application.
