The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport says they are prepared for the thousands of people who are expected to attend the prestigious Vodacom Durban July on Saturday.

Department spokesperson Kwanele Ncalane urges motorists to be patient on the roads as there will be road closures around the city.

Ncalane says they have adopted a zero tolerance policy for road users who break the law.

“There is an integrated plan that has been put together by our law enforcement agency coordinated by the SAPS Metro and the provincial RTI (Road Traffic Inspectorate). So the plan we have we’re quite optimistic that we can assure everybody of their safety.

“We are going to be adopting a zero tolerance approach to those who will be caught driving under the influence of alcohol.  We’ve mounted not less than 20 operations that will be taking place,” Ncalane warns.
