One of the Gupta brothers, Ajay, has written to Parliament to demand that he be given a chance to respond to allegations that Eskom secretary Suzanne Daniels made against him.
In two unsigned lawyers’ letters, Gupta refutes Daniels’ testimony saying she had met him and Martins in Johannesburg.
Gupta says in both letters that he has proof that he was not in South Africa at the time.
“The documented evidence that we have supplied to you demonstrate that Mr AJ Gupta was in India from 17 July to 29 July 2017. And that he attended religious celebrations in India. The claims made by Ms Daniels are clearly false since Mr Gupta could not have been at Melrose Arch on 29 July 2017,” reads the letter.
