The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation has expressed its deepest condolences to struggle icon Winnie Madikizela-Mandela‘s, friends and family. Madikizela -Mandela passed away on Monday afternoon.
“It is with sadness that we received the news of Comrade Winnie’s passing after a period of illness that saw her in and out of hospital,” said the Foundation’s Executive Director, Neeshan Balton in a statement.
The Foundation says the passing of people like Madikizela-Mandela also robs the country of its rich history.
Madikizela- Mandela’s death comes days after the one year death anniversary of Ahmed Kathrada.
The foundation hailed Madikizela-Mandela’s contribution to the struggle against apartheid.
