Africa CDC warns against the use of hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19 treatment

The Africa Centres for Diseases Control and Prevention is warning African nations against using the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine, for treating COVID-19 patients.

This comes as the World Health Organization says it will temporarily drop hydroxychloroquine from its global study into experimental coronavirus treatments following safety concerns.

The drug has been controversially used by some world leaders- including US President Donald Trump.
