ACDP slams police, politicians for drug abuse in W Cape

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) President Kenneth Meshoe has blamed police and politicians for the continuing drug problem in the Western Cape.

He’s addressed the party’s Western Cape Provincial General Conference in Mitchells Plain on the Cape Flats. Drug abuse is rife in areas such as the Cape Flats and has been blamed for the high crime rate.

Meshoe says, “Some police officials and politicians in the province are being paid-off by drug lords in exchange for their silence. I say a lack of action against known drug-lords is damaging communities.”

Meshoe also says the ACDP will not stand for corruption in all spheres of government.

The ACDP’s Western Cape Provincial General Conference will elect a provincial leader and the PEC for the term ending after the 2019 National General Elections.
