The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) leader Reverend Kenneth Meshoe’s campaign trail has taken him to Westbury, in Johannesburg, ahead of the Local Government Elections.

He’s encouraging voters to register with the IEC this weekend.

The Reverend Meshoe says all they are asking for is a chance to be voted in power in the City of Johannesburg under their mayoral candidate, Bishop Dulton Adams.

He says his party will ensure that Westbury ceases to be notorious for drug abuse, gangsterism and crime.

“We don’t want to make friendship with criminals, drug dealers, they are not our friends. We want to be friends with law-abiding citizens. We want people to know that it pays to be a law-abiding citizen. So if this man beside me, who’s our Mayoral candidate for Johannesburg wins, the people here will know that gangsters and criminals will run away to other places where mayors will allow them to do nonsense,” says Meshoe.
