A joint operation between Crime Intelligence and the Cape Town K9 Unit has uncovered an abalone drying facility in Loevenstein.

Police spokesperson FC van Wyk says numerous large steel cooking pots, plastic containers, gas cylinders and burners, a scale and various other items have been seized from the facility.

Numerous shelves stacked with dried abalone and plastic containers filled with dried abalone were also recovered.
