A trip down memory lane at IEC’s exhibition at Results Operation Centre

Exhibition
Reading Time: < 1 minute

With days before the general elections taking place on the 8th of May, the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) centre in Pretoria will be the epicenter of the vote counting results.

At the heart of this busy hub of activity is an exhibition which depicts the voting registration process and a history of the IEC.

People can take a brief walk around the exhibition to learn about the counting processes of the IEC as well as what the electoral commission is all about.

There are mannequins dressed in IEC regalia and a voting booth with previous ballot papers.

The exhibition is packed with historical information and memorabilia including ballot boxes from the historic 1994 elections that were used in South Africa’s first democratic polls.
