A gang-related arrest made in Port Elizabeth

A gang-related arrest has been made at Kleinskool in the northern areas of Port Elizabeth. The suspect was spotted by the Anti-Gang Unit who were patrolling the area.

It is alleged that the members recognised the suspect as someone on their wanted list. They apprehended the suspect who gave them a false name.

Police spokesperson Priscilla Naidu says the suspect will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrates’ Court on an attempted murder charge.

“He was arrested for attempted murder which took place on the second of March this year. It is alleged that at about 5:30am on the mentioned date, three friends aged 22, 26 and 31 years were seated inside a house when suddenly multiple gunshots were fired from the outside into the house. One person, the 22-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to the chest while the others didn’t sustain any injuries,” says Naidu.
