A political party, Forum 4 Service Delivery, has called on the North West government to rename Mmabana Arts and Culture Foundation, after musician Jabulani “HHP” Tsambo. The foundation produced several artists including musicians and television stars particularly from the North West.
HHP died on Wednesday at his home in Rand Park Ridge in the North-West of Johannesburg at the age of 38.
The Forum’s spokesperson Katlego Motlagodisa has also requested the provincial government to grant HHP a provincial official funeral.
“We are of the view that since Mmabana is there as our only arts centre in the province how about honouring our own HHP, we rename Mmabana to Jabulani Tsambo Arts Centre. We are of the view that the same way KZN gave Senzo Meyiwa a state funeral is the same way our province must bury our own HHP.”
