Eskom has suspended loadshedding from 8am this morning to 4pm this afternoon. However, power outages will resume at Stage 1 from 4pm until 10pm.
Eskom says Stage one loadshedding will resume on Tuesday morning from 08:00 – 16:00. Some believe the power outages will continue until December.
Eskom will continue with Stage 1 loadshedding from 8am. However from 4pm it will be escalated to Stage 2.
Eskom has downgraded loadshedding from Stage 2 to Stage 1, starting from 12:00 to 22:00 on Sunday night. The power utility says it will provide a further update on the status of the power grid later in the day.
Consumers have welcomed Eskom’s announcement that there will be no loadshedding this weekend.
Eskom says loadshedding is expected to persist for the rest of the week.

Operations have resumed at the Sibanye Stillwater mine in Theunissen in the Free State.
Eskom’s Chief Operations Officer Jan Oberholzer says the outlook for this week is to maintain loadshedding due to the persistent rain because of the coal handling challenges.
