South Africa has recorded 772 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of cases to 727 595. In a statement, the Department of Health also reported 54 COVID-19 related deaths.
“Twenty-four from Eastern Cape, 13 from the Free State, one from KwaZulu-Natal, two from Limpopo, one from Mpumalanga, nine from Northern Cape, and four from Western Cape. ”
This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 19 465.
“Of the 54 deaths reported today, four were reported to have occurred in the past 24-48 hours: one in KwaZulu-Natal, and three in Western Cape.”
The recoveries now stand at 657 500 which translates to a recovery rate of 90%.
