The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has verified 5% of the results from the 2021 local government elections that took place in South Africa on the 1st of November.

South Africans went to polls to elect local government representatives for the fifth time since the first local-government elections in 2000.

The IEC says 1159 voting districts have verified results, with 22 seats that have been allocated so far. The ANC has received 13 of those seats and the DA 6.

21 wards have completed counting.
