African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa says free education is going to be phased in at last.

Ramaphosa was speaking at the ANC’s 106th birthday celebration at the ABSA Stadium in East London.

The event is attended by amongst others Kenya’s President, Uhuru Kenyatta, President Jacob Zuma and alliance members.

He says the conference has decided that divisions must end within the party.

” We must strengthen the alliance as the alliance is still fit for the fight.”

Ramaphosa says the alliance must work with civil society and the veterans must work in building the ANC.

He says that they will ensure that they create one million jobs for young people over three years.

Ramaphosa says they have directed resources to the people by building houses and distributing electricity.

He says South Africa has the largest social grant system in the continent, with 72 million people benefitting.
