President Jacob Zuma will deliver his annual State of the Nation Address (SONA) on 11 February 2016 at 19h00.
This will be President Zuma’s 9th SONA. The 2016 SONA theme is Following up on our commitments to the people!
The SONA will be debated on 16 and 17 February with the president expected to reply on the 18th.
In an attempt to get ordinary people to watch or listen to his SONA in Parliament on Thursday, President Jacob Zuma went on a visit to the Marabastad business market and taxi rank in Pretoria where he arrived to a rousing welcome.
Some expressed their concerns to the President, including housing. Informal business owners hope that there will be some support to help grow their stalls.
President Zuma also visited the Home Affairs offices in Marabastad, where he Was going to engage with foreign nationals on some of the challenges they face.
The President has encouraged people to tune in and follow the live coverage.
