Democratic Alliance (DA) City of Johannesburg Mayoral candidate, Helen Zille has vowed to elect people with integrity to work for the City.
Zille was speaking at the DA’s manifesto launch at the Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown in Johannesburg on Saturday.
The party says the manifesto will focus on practical solutions to fix struggling municipalities.

Addressing supporters, Zille vowed to safeguard revenue collected from water and electricity within Johannesburg.
“You cannot fake competence. First, we will appoint people with integrity and the skill to do the jobs that are needed. Engineers must run engineering services. Second, we will spend residents’ money honestly and wisely. Water and electricity revenue must be protected and reinvested in those services. We will stop wasting your money and we will stop the overpayment for goods and services that are never delivered.”
