About 1.2-million more registered voters will take part in the 2019 elections.
The Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) says the combined voter registration weekends in March last year and January this year brought the new voters into the electoral process.
According to the IEC’s Election 2019 booklet, the metropolitan areas of Gauteng, Western Cape and Kwazulu-Natal showed the highest percentages of new voter registrations.
