A blast in Sri Lanka's capital today was caused by a female suicide bomber who blew herself up inside army headquarters. The number of casualties isn't known yet. An army spokesperson says it was aimed at the army commander's vehicle.
"A suicide bomb went off near the army hospital aimed at the army commander's vehicle," says the spokesperson. The Tamil Tiger rebels, who have been observing a shaky ceasefire with the government since 2002, have used suicide bombers in their fight for a separate Tamil homeland. - Reuters
