Tibetans should stop agitation if China stops violence. The Dalai Lama has sent out a message to the Tibetans across the globe that they should stop their protests and agitation if China withdraws its troops from Tibet.
He pointed out to the Tibetan exiles who live in 'free territories outside Tibet' that their activities could be interpreted as 'violent' and can aggravate the current situation. He urged them to be 'extra vigilant'.
Addressing a gathering in India's northern Dharamsala, the Tibetan spiritual leader said that he is deeply saddened and concerned by the use of arms by the Chinese authorities to suppress the peaceful demonstrations of to Tibetans.
The Prime Minister of the Tibetan government, Samdhong Rinpoche, in exile summed up Dalai Lama's message for the benefit of the members of the media. "His basic message was that if China is heeding the appeal of the world to stop the violence and to take back the forces, then Tibetan people should also stop the present agitation."
