Leopards defeat Cosmos 2-0

May 14, 2008, 18:45

It's all over for Jomo Cosmos. Cosmos will not be campaigning in the Absa Premier Soccer League next season after they were beaten 2-0 by Black Leopards at the Orkney Stadium this afternoon.

Despite their victory, Leopards remain second from the bottom because Thanda Royal Zulu scored a 3-2 win over Bidvest Wits in Durban.

Black Leopards were not going to have pity on Cosmos as they were desperate to stave off their own relegation worries. Leopards applied pressure from the word go. It was not a surprise when they were duly rewarded with a goal early in the game. It was the wake-up call Cosmos needed because they wanted the win more than Leopards did.

On Sunday Black Leopards play Kaizer Chiefs, while Thanda Royals will face Cosmos. The results of these two matches will determine who will play in the promotion/relegation play-offs.
