Brazilians were bundled out of the African Champions league after wasting numerous scoring chances.

It was a case of too little too late for Sundowns as the Brazilians were bundled out of the African Champions league yesterday afternoon. The Pretoria side won their second leg tie of the third round of the competition against Sudan's Al Hilal 1-nil.
But the win wasn't enough as they needed to score two goals without conceding to progress to the group stages.
It was always going to be difficult for the Brazilians after they lost the first leg 4-2 in Sudan. Al Hilal was the better of the two sides in the first half as they created more chances. Brian Baloyi stood firm to ensure his side kept a clean sheet.
Sundowns' Peter Ndlovu put himself in a scoring position in the 36th minute only to be denied by the goalkeeper. The score at half-time was 0-0. Sundowns started the second half of the match like a house on fire. Their efforts were rewarded when Surprise Moriri scored after being allowed acres of space.
Sundowns piled pressure
They continued to pile on the pressure in search of the second goal, but Al Hilal's goalkeeper stood firm. Lerato Chabangu was among the culprits who wasted numerous chances. Al Hilal had a chance in the last minute of the game with Baloyi off the line, but the striker ballooned the ball over the bar.
Meanwhile, Platinum Stars who had beaten five times Champions League winners Al Ahly 2-1 in their home leg went down 2-0 at the Cairo Stadium in their Champions League third round second leg clash.
