Bafana Bafana will be in top form by 2010

The South African Football Association (Safa) has assured Soccer authorities that Bafana Bafana will be on top form by 2010. This is according to Safa president Molefi Oliphant.
He was reacting to comments from Minister of Sport, Makhenkesi Stofile who said government should nationalise the team to avoid embarrassment in 2010.
Earlier this week, the Minister suggested that a group of 54 players become the property of the government which would pay them a monthly allowance. But Safa and the Premier Soccer League have their own ideas on how to make Bafana Bafana a competetive side.
Oliphant says: "From the football side we are in control, we are on top of things and we know that the team will be prepared and we are going to have a competitve team."
Oliphant also warned about just focussing on 2010, "I dont want us to be stereotyped and think of footbal in terms of 2010. There is life after the World Cup."
