South African companies will be able to start buying hospitality packages for the 2010 Soccer World Cup as early as June this year.
FIFA launched its Hospitality Programme in Johannesburg today. Five hospitality packages will be available for the Soccer World Cup, at an average price of R10 000 each. The Big Six Series - one of the largest - will feature the six main World Cup venues, including the opening match, the semifinals, and the final. Companies can also choose a combination of elements.
The local organising committee is aiming to promote tourism and investment. Local Organising Committee (LOC) CEO Danny Jordaan says they hope that this too, will be an impetus to drive their objective to have at least 30% of the budget spent on small, medium and micro enterprises.
MATCH Hospitality, which has exclusive worldwide rights for FIFA Hospitality Programmes until 2014, has appointed two South African companies - CIRCA Hospitality and Warwick Hospitality and Events - as their exclusive sales agents for South Africa and the rest of sub-Saharan Africa.
