Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Quinton Fortune has joined English Premier League outfit Blackburn Rovers on a short term contract.

The 30-year-old has 53 caps for his country. At Rovers he will link with his South African compatriots Benni McCarthy and Aaron Mokoena. The trio was also members of the South African Olympic team in 2000.

The injury plagued Fortune who has been battling to get a club after he was offloaded by Manchester United a few years ago. He had a short spell with Bolton Wanderers and was turned down by Sunderland recently.
