Parreira not giving up on Bafana Bafana players

Carlos Alberto Parreira not yet ready to throw in the towel

Bafana Bafana coach Carlos Alberto Parreira maintains that many positives have emerged in spite of South Africa's opening round elimination from the African Cup of Nations (Afcon).

He was speaking after the team arrived back in the country after their embarrassing first round exit from the tournament in Ghana.

The team touched down at Johannesburg's O. R. Tambo international airport yesterday. Parreira says South Africa held their own in all three games against Angola, Tunisia and Senegal - and basically slipped up through lapses in concentration resulting in the conceding of costly goals.
