The Vodacom Central Cheetahs, one of the two new teams in the Super 14 rugby competition, is getting ready and today showed off their new jerseys.
It was at the Schoemanpark golf course where the men relaxed in preparation for their first season in the toughest provincial rugby competition in the southern hemisphere. The sponsor also unveiled a massive five year backing of the new central region team.
Harold Verster, the managing director of the Vodacom Cheetahs, says with the sponsors support they can take the team in the Super 14 to success and to very high levels.
Rassie Erasmus, the Cheetahs coach, says it is a new competition and the Currie Cup is something of the past. Erasmus says they will try and take the good stuff and use that in the Super 14, and try to eliminate the bad stuff. The team captain still has to be announced.
