Malcolm Speed has been put on paid leave for the remaining 10 weeks of his term as Chief Executive of the International Cricket Council (ICC). General Manager David Richardson will serve as interim CEO until July 4, when South Africa's Haroon Lorgat takes up the post on a permanent basis.
This comes after a "fundamental breakdown" in the relationship between Speed and several other officials over a variety of issues. The biggest problem is widely reported to have been a falling out between Speed and President Ray Mali over the ICC's decision not to take any action against Zimbabwe.
This after an independent audit revealed fraudulent transactions in the accounts of the country's cricket board.
