August 31, 2004, 07:15

South Africa's Olympic Athletes have been greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Johannesburg International Airport.

The SA athletes won six medals, one gold, three silver and two bronze. Supporters and family members greeted the athletes as they walked through the lounge at international arrivals. The athletes flew home aboard a special South African Airways plane just before 6.30 this morning.

Hestrie Cloete, the silver medal winning high jumper, will not be there as she has gone to the IAAF meeting.
