"The Green Dam" - Viewers' Comments

what I don't understand is that we as white South Africans had all the privileges and the schooling what happened ,did they not see the writing on the wall  What I am seeing now is that these poor whites do not have a structure in place to see that there children achieve something and make them go to school no matter what, why are they not planting vegetables in the small plot of land that they have and those at the green dam why do they not clean a piece of land and plant some vegetables.

i want to say how disappointed i am at the fact that when we see poor white people its such a big deal and no fuss is made of black and coloured people who are not only poor but dont even have a place to call home. You say that social worker has dedicated her life to looking after the poor but from what i see on your show, shes dedicated her life to looking after POOR WHITES.There are millions more poor blacks than whites.I think thier plight needs to be highlighted

If youre poor, youre poor. Equality means the colour of your skin is irrelevant.

people dont look out for each other. Rich for poor

RHEMA CHURCH OWNS A FARM JUST OUTSIDE RNDBRG FOR THE POOR

i dont see how people can call them selves poor, yet they smoke cigarettes (a luxury) every person on your show smoked

Poverty is more about a good education than anything else. Most were UNSKILLED in ISCOR.

This programme was shocking, but needed, thank you for bringing this to the publics attention

Didnt Mr Mbeki said :a better life for ALL?:

Does the fact that they are white and poor make them special? Black people live in shacks with no electricity and running water and toilets.

How many black people are poor and have been living beyond the poverty lines for a long time in SA? Why are Whites suddenly getting attention and

their plight is not highlighted despite the fact that they are victims of the fallen apartheid government. Treat people fairly!

Nobody should get special privileges. White or non white. Attitudes of people in this country must first change b4 their lives can.

i am white! Stop blaming government you only have yourselves to blame. All of them smoke, drink Coke, have children, have animals, wear nail polish, hair is dyed! A box of cigarettes can feed a person 4 a day. Grants are R760 and 2 bed council house is R200 a month. Get off you asses and help yourselves. Stop expecting hand outs!
