I think it
is marvellous that the program tonight was based on South
African people and not an examination of weight problems in a
foreign country. I battle with my weight and your
presenter/investigator really touched a cord with me. I can
relate to everything she covered. It just does boil down to
control and at the end of the day no one else puts the food in
your mouth.
Very good programme. Good variety
coverage. Hard to be overweight.
thank you very much on the program about
OBESITY, very interesting, please have more !
Good tip- whatever yr size - wear
clothes slightly smaller that u r! Every bite is a signal. No
caftans. Aversion therapy as taught by ancient martyrs...
No one of us can judge. We live in a
world were we have to be Perfect. Im not obese but I also dont
judge people that is obese. After all we all are just human.
I disagree with weigh loss programmes
that expose people 2 harmful chemicals thru tablets. I lost
8kgs in 3 months with 45 min indoor cycling everyday
some people do put on weight overnight.
I was either slightly underweight or at my ideal weight for
most of my life. I have never had an eating disorder. However,
five years ago, when my lifestyle changed (food and exercise),
I put on 30 kg in less than 6 months. It CAN happen that
quickly. As I have not returned to my previous eating and
exercise habits, I have not lost that weight, but I did lose
10 kg in two months earlier this year. I think that an
important factor is also stress and "phases" in life. Two
years ago I went on a diet and the gym almost daily, and did
not lose a single kilo, yet the 10 kg was NOT accompanied by
exercise or a major diet.
i am a girl aged 15 but i weigh almost
90 kg and everyone keeps taunting me about it i tried to lose
it but every time i try i find out that i have gained. i no
longer go out that much i hate going out cause people look at
me i want so bad to lose it would you please give me ideas
that maybe i can be a happy person once again.
I have just watched your programme on
obesity in South Africa. For many years I had ignored by
ballooning weight, subscribing it to being big boned. It took
a long time for me to be able to take that long hard look at
myself and the size I had become. I am clinically obese and
although I have yet to suffer the medical issues discussed on
your show, I continue to grow. I have learnt that you canıt
change what you canıt accept and by that I mean hating
yourself for being overweight and fighting this addiction
constantly will keep you constantly fighting. For 4 years now
I have been working hard at finding the source of my need to
overeat, I believe that you donıt get to being 150kg+ and not
have any issues. I wanted to resolve them and in doing so
eradicate my need to eat, making any diet or ³lifestyle²
change easy. I had always thought that by treating myself with
chocolates and snacks I was giving myself the kinds of things
I had always wanted as a child, I was eating to become happy.
Becoming obese is more than just eating
too much and exercising too little, its about a need you canıt
get fulfilled, a desire that is never quenched, hurt that
never heals. Until you learn to give these things to yourself
you can never ever successfully loose weight.
