Government has set aside R50 million to relocate the community of Pomfret from their home at an old military base in the far north of the North West Province.
The residents are mainly Portuguese-speaking Angolan and Namibian former mercenaries, who served in the 32 Battalion in the former South African Defence Force.
The MEC for housing and local government Phenye Vilakazi and General Bobo Moerane of the SANDF visited the community
