A new set of initiatives to fast track land reform in South Africa will be introduced at the Western Cape Town of Rawsonville today. Minister of Agriculture and Land Affairs Lulama Xingwana is expected to announce the initiatives today.
The Land Affairs Department says the aim is to expedite the redistribution of land from white to black ownership; ensure security of tenure for farm dwellers, and also to create economic opportunities for rural communities.
Rawsonville is one of the rural areas that have been earmarked as focus areas for the rollout of the initiatives.
