The Nkensani hospital clinical manager in Limpopo, Bernard Hlungwane, says the condition of malaria patients at the hospital has stabilised. Several people from villages near Giyani have been admitted to the hospital since the Easter weekend, after being diagnosed with malaria.
Four people have already died as a result of contracting it. This week, 76 patients were examined by doctors and more than 30 admitted to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned that there could be an increase in malaria cases because of the high rainfall that occurred over southern Africa this season.
