A group of chanting Aids activists has gathered outside the Human Rights' Commission offices in Cape Town. This is part of their planned picket against alleged unlawful testing of drugs, purporting to be an Aids cure.
Spokesperson for People Living with Aids, Ntombozuko Kraai, says they plan to hand over a memorandum to the HRC, to probe the allegations of unlawful human experimentation with the drugs.
Kraai claims the public is being told that some of these products can cure Aids. She says this sows confusion among people who are on waiting lists for treatment and undermines the legitimate HIV/Aids plan.
