The construction company responsible for an air blast, which damaged more than a hundred houses in the Reeds, in Centurion on Friday, says it has begun repairing some of the homes. Windows and sliding doors shattered and ceilings inside the homes collapsed during blasting operations. The company, Canyon Rock Quarries, was busy with operations in the area, to make way for the new K54 road.
General manager, Gavin Robertse, says they don't think the damage was so extensive that houses would have to be demolished. He says the company plans to set up a hotline for residents to contact them.
Meanwhile, structural experts are expected to visit the area.
