One killed in Pretoria bus accident

The bus accident happened at the N1/N4 off ramp

One person has died and more than 80 were injured after a Starline bus overturned just outside Pretoria shortly after 6am today. The accident happened at the N1/N4 off ramp.

Tshwane emergency services spokesperson, Johan Pieterse, says 42 were seriously injured and 43 had minor injuries. He says the bus was en route from Hammanskraal to Pretoria when the driver allegedly lost control and the bus overturned.

The rescue workers had to use the Jaws of Life to free one passenger.
