The Energy Intensive User Group of South Africa (EIUG) says it’s confused and uncertain about Eskom's decision to halt load-shedding. The group comprises of 30 of the country's biggest energy consumers, including mining companies.
It says it will be calling for a meeting with Eskom's CEO Jacob Moroga within the next 30 days to discuss a way forward.
Eskom suspended its load-shedding schedule two weeks ago due to power savings by industry and domestic users. However energy experts are not convinced that a solution to the current power crunch is in sight.
