Work together to bring stability: SABC leadership

SABC Board and Management will engage with staff and try allay concerns

The Board and the Group Exco of the SABC have just concluded a meeting dealing with issues that have been bedevilling the organisation.

The meeting addressed some issues that management had earlier raised in a memo to the Board. The meeting was characterized by frank and constructive exchanges. In the end the two sides agreed to work together to restore the credibility of and stability within the public broadcaster, Board Chairperson Khanyisile Mkhonza said today.

Mkhonza said, “In pursuit of that the meeting also agreed that due process will be followed as soon as possible to finalise investigations in relation to the GCEO and the GE: News and Current Affairs”.

She says the SABC Board and Management will, with immediate effect, embark on a series of meetings and a process of engagement with all levels of the organisation to allay concerns and restore the morale of staff.

“The Board and Management are grateful to the staff for their continued commitment to the organisation and regret any inconvenience inadvertently caused by the current challenges facing the corperation, “Mkhonza concluded.
