The SABC's Group Executive of Commercial Enterprises, Gab Mampone, has been appointed as Acting Group Chief Executive Officer.
This follows the suspension of Dali Mpofu pending an investigation into claims about his alleged refusal to implement decisions of the board.
Mpofu suspended news head Snuki Zikalala yesterday for alleged gross misconduct. SABC Board chairperson, Khanyisile Mkhonza says: “We have appointed Mampone to oversee the running of the organisation in the meantime.
Mkhonza added: “We have been assured that Mampone will carry out his duties as expected. “If there are meetings to be held, he will hold them. If there are events to be held, those events will happen and nothing will set us back by all the developments.”
