Phiri residents to protest against water meters

Phiri residents in Soweto will today take to the street in protest against pre-paid water meters.

Spokesperson for the Anti-Water privatisation coalition Patra Sindane says residents plan to disconnect their pre-paid water meters and reconnect to the normal water supply this afternoon.

Last week, the Johannesburg High Court declared pre-paid water meters unconstitutional and unlawful in the residents' civil challenge against Jo’burg Water.
