Nationwide passengers left stranded

Nationwide suspends all operations

Low-cost airlines cash in as Nationwide collapses

April 30, 2008, 08:45

A few passengers are still being seen at Nationwide desks and ticket offices at major airports, even though the airline ceased operations yesterday. No staffs are on duty.

At Durban International Airport those who came to the airline's counter were greeted by a notice informing them that all flights had been cancelled.

At Cape Town International Airport most of the would-be Nationwide passengers are foreigners. Four Angolans and two Zambians were meant to catch the 7:45 am flight to Johannesburg.

A low cost airlines had three passengers from Nationwide has buying tickets from them. No one from Nationwide was available to address passenger concerns.
