Seven people survived a roller coaster crash at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg. It all went horribly wrong when the ride became unhinged and toppled to its side and fell 1.5m to the ground. The injured were rushed to hospital having sustained neck and back pain.
There is no CCTV camera where the incident took place. However, management maintains that the rides were inspected just last week.
“The incident happened on Friday evening and there was an inspection going on at that piece of equipment sometime in the last seven days… there was no report from the inspection but currently we have an external investigation by some forensics engineers to determine the exact cause of the accident,” says Bob Yearham, the chief operating officer at Emperors Palace.
Angry family members of the injured have vowed to take further action against the resort.
