Zion Christian Church members gathered at their headquarters over the Easter weekend
|
March 23, 2008, 17:30
Zion Christian Church (ZCC) leader Barnabas Lekganyane has condemned the recent University of Free State (UFS) video, saying if necessary the law must take its course.
Bishop Lekganyane warned that racist tendencies were unacceptable 14 years into democracy.
Addressing followers at the ZCC Moria head quarters, Lekganyane also urged the country's youth to have self control and to make the right choices. He urged young people to be careful, saying the world is changing.
Unlike last year's sermon that focused on crime, Zimbabwe and conflict on the African continent, the focus this year was on morality.
On the political front, Lekganyane congratulated the ANC Youth League’s call for government to regulate the sale of liquor on Sundays.
The ZCC says almost eight million people visited the church this year.
